Meet our Nigerian Beneficiary: Feet of Grace

Their mission

Feet of Grace Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Lagos, Nigeria, committed to transforming the lives of women amputees. Since its founding in 2015, the organization has empowered nearly 100 women through access to prosthetic care, seed funding for small businesses, and scholarships for girls and young women.

Their core mission? To ensure that losing a limb does not mean losing the chance at a dignified, independent life.

Their key programs include:

  • Prosthetic Care: Personalized support and custom prosthetics for women amputees across Nigeria.

  • Seed Funding: Financial support for launching small businesses, helping amputees achieve economic independence.

  • Scholarships: Educational assistance for girls and young women, ensuring long-term empowerment through knowledge.

Their inspiring fundraising events—like Hit the Street for Their Feet charity walks and Dine for a Leg dinners—help mobilize communities and fund this impactful work.

Why We Chose Them

We discovered Feet of Grace Foundation through a Nigerian friend, who had previously volunteered for Feet of Grace Foundation. She organized a video call to introduce us to Irene, the passionate founder behind the mission. Her vision of restoring hope and dignity through mobility deeply resonated with Ozonya’s commitment to purpose-driven fashion.

At Ozonya, we believe every purchase should tell a story—not just of culture and creativity, but of conscious support and giving back. Feet of Grace embodies that spirit.

How we support them

Current initiatives

At Ozonya Handmade, we believe that fashion can also do good. That’s why 10% of all profits from our 'Nigerian Jungle' and 'Nigerian Sunrise’ collections are donated directly to support Feet of Grace Foundation's programs. This initiative is on going, which means that if today you purchase an item from any of these two collections, you will contribute to the yearly donation to Feet of Grace.

Passed initiatives

  • We organized a fundraising event for Feet of Grace in 2022 in Brussels. Our very first ‘Charity Walk’ event counted with 10 participants who were happy to walk some kilometers to have a meaningful impact on women amputees from Nigeria. 100% of the benefits from this event were donated to Feet of Grace Foundation

  • Skills Transfer: In 2022, we hosted an online workshop teaching to selected beneficiaries from Feet of Grace Foundation. It lasted for 2 hours and they were introduced to basic small business management skills and fabric hoops wrapping skills, so that they could also start their own wrapped hoops business.
